So far this year, there have been a number of exciting RE visits!
Over the academic year, Years 1-6 each visit a place of worship.
In the Autumn term, Year 2 visited St Paul’s church. They were able to explore what special items are in the church and were told the Parable of the Sower. They even got to act this out!
In the Spring term, Year 6 visited Quwwat-Ul-Islam mosque as part of their ‘Religious Leaders’ topic. They listened to a talk from the Imam and asked him questions about what it takes to be a successful religious leader.
Also, this term Year 4 visited St Paul’s church. They have been learning about Easter and found out more about the Easter story and how it is celebrated in the church.
As well as visiting places of worship, some children from Years 2 and 5 had the opportunity to go on the Infant and Junior RE Conferences. Along with a number of other Newham schools, they explored themes such as ‘respect’ and ‘belonging’ through stories and interactive learning.
