We have received confirmation today of our Primary Science Quality Mark: Silver Award!

Ms Marchant, who is the Science Leader for the school said: “I am delighted to announce that we have been awarded the Primary Science Quality Mark: Silver award. After a year of enriching opportunities, excellent teaching and learning and a host of celebratory events, we have officially been recognised as a school who has strengthened and celebrated their science provision. I would like to thank the teachers, parents, visitors and of course the children who worked hard to showcase the importance of Science at Colegrave. Well done!”

The Primary School Quality Mark scheme enables schools to work together to share good practice and is supported by professional development led by local experts. It encourages teacher autonomy and innovation while at the same time offering a clear framework for development in science subject leadership, teaching and learning.

It is also the only national award scheme to develop and celebrate the quality of science teaching and learning in primary schools. Schools achieve a PSQM award through a year-long process of initial audit, followed by action and reflection. For more information please visit: www.psqm.org.uk
