Autumn in Acorn Class

Autumn Term was  a lot of fun for us in Acorn class!

We really enjoyed Shakespeare week and acting out scenes from 'The Tempest'!

In science we learned about 'materials' and their everyday use.

In art we learned about cubism and Picasso. 

Topic was very interesting as we explored many activities that helped us to learn about 'Light Festivals'.  We even made our own diya lamps, wrote invitations to our friends in Rainbow Class and and celebrated with our own 'Light Party'.

In English, our text 'Ruby's Worry' really helped us to identify and explore our emotions.  We discussed and practised expressing ourselves safely.  We had a great time discovering what we look like when we are happy, sad, excited/angry and the things that make us feel happy or sad. We also learned how to help ourselves and others when they are worried or sad.    

We made our own 'Worry Monsters and linked it to science by exploring many different materials.

What an awesome Autumn Term we had!
