The Great War
This term in year 6 we have been learning about WW1.
Using maps, we looked at all the countries that were involved, and how the conflict began.
We used primary resources to study local soldier Walter Tull, and enquiry and role play to explore the life of Jack Cornwell.
In English we read a heartfelt book called The Armistice Runner by ​Tom Palmer. To really understand the emotions involved in WW1 we used the green screen to create freeze frames and showed the thoughts and feelings of soldiers and their families.
